I have to use rabbit ears...(indoor antenna). what is some secrets or the best way to get tv to come in clear? - indoor rabbit ideas

What are tips for TV come in clear? I live in the city, and went and bought an RCA indoor antenna $ 15.00. I like 2 channels, but not entirely clear. All ideas, what you buy to make it clear or not? Not that I do not want the right cable or satellite now.

(This answer assumes that you are in the United States)

The first thing is to learn on the rabbit ears, that they are generally two different antennas, which are brought together.

In general, there are two telescopic rods sticking out about 45 degrees. This is mainly 2-13 * Capture analog stations that are in the VHF band.

It is a small circle, birdie, or the number 8 It is mainly used for capturing analog stations 14-69 * in the UHF band.

In general, you should be the part closer to VHF-UHF TV telescopic poles.

If you set your location in one of the first two links below are found at local TV channels and which channels are broadcast in.

The first step is to adjust the length of the telescopic rods, the best length. This is two sites that are linked to explain, but really know what channel number is the lowest you want to receive and adjust in accordance with the length of the beam.

At this point you start the game with the antenna. In many cases, works best in a window in the direction of TV's transmitter. Many times, you get the best signal by the antenna as high as possible (as in the above) on a shelf.

There is a better (and more expensive) internal antennas for $ 15. The experience of your neighbor is probably the best guide.

When you reach the point of wanting to make a proposal, I suggest you add the following information about your question.

Postcode
What floor is the antenna?
As the picture below. Is it snow or ghosting?

* Digital TV channels using the same frequencies as analog. Unlike analog channels, not digital channel # tell you whether you are in the VHF or UHF. To determine if a digital channel UHF or VHF, you should see the web site and find that AA "RF" channel, corresponding to the old analog channel.

There is no difference between a regular TV antenna, age, and an "HD antenna" or "digital antenna".These are expressions that come from marketing.

A major problem with antennas inside is that you get ghosting image from one part of the signal in the room, they change as you move through space.

This makes the creation of rabbit ears is almost impossible.

For the United Kingdom, UHF TV, we see that the antennae are generally better waveguide Yagi type with long and tie in back.

At the moment I would put the antenna on the windowsill, away from the television.
